Warm Up Music

Hi Everyone,

Lauren has brought it to my attention that the warm-up music hasn't been passed out to any new people at the field. Thanks Lauren! There are copies in the band center, but I'll get some and bring them to the field. I'll also carry some around with me for the rest of the summer.

For a temporary fix, I've scanned the warm up pages, but posting them here ruins the quality, so just email me at osutrombones@gmail.com and I'll send you a copy. If anyone can't make it to anymore summer sessions, I can mail you the warm up, or any other music that you want.

For everyone that has signed up for tryouts, you'll be receiving a packet that has all the information and music you will need for tryouts. The secretaries said that it will be mailed out shortly. If you haven't signed up for tryouts, but are planning on trying out, go to tbdbitl.osu.edu under the Prospective Members section and register. It will only take about 5 minutes.

Also, I haven't said it lately, but for anyone that lives far away, you are more than welcome to stay at my house from Tuesday to Friday morning. It's hard to drive here and back twice a week for a 2 hour practice. We could even go out on Wednesday with you to get some one-on-one practice. If your parents aren't ok with this, then you can talk to the directors at summer sessions. They will confirm that you'll be fine staying with me and my other roommates, who are also vets in the marching band. You can even bring a friend if you'd feel more comfortable :)

I hope to see you all soon!

Lauren, I've been looking for some people that are in Cleveland this summer that might be able to meet up with you. I'll let you know when I find someone, and I'll give you their contact information.

Warm up music and Practice

Hi everyone! This OSU trombone blog is a great idea! I attended my first summer session last night and enjoyed it very much! :). As an incoming freshman, I noticed yesterday that there was a warm up routine that was not passed out to prospective members at the Junior/Senior night. I am guessing it was passed out at the very first summer session? Would it be possible if one of the section leaders or other members of the trombone section emailed or faxed me a copy of this new warm up? Or could you post it on the blog so I can print it out? I know there were other newbies there last night that wanted the new warm up routine as well.
Also, since I live about 2 hours away from OSU, it is challenging to attend more than just a few summer sessions before tryouts. I was wondering if any OSU trombone veterans lived around the Lorain County/Cleveland area? It would be great to meet with you as I need help learning fundamentals and marching techniques. :) I do have the marching fundamentals DVD, but some one-on-one help would be greatly appreciated if possible!
Thank you!
*Lauren*

Running Stairs?

My brother Alex and I have have been running the stairs in the stadium for exercise, so we thought we'd invite anyone else who wants to come join us. We've been running Monday, Wednesday, and Friday around noon, but we can be a bit flexible with the times if people want to join us. If you want to contact me, my email is hall.1435@osu.edu, or you can just find me on Facebook. Hope to see some people out there!

Hello Trombones!

I opened this so we can all have a place to work out extra practices and talk about any questions you may have. You should have received an invitation email. If you didn't, just email OSUtrombones@gmail.com, and I'll get you set up. Once you open the email, you will either have to sign in with your gmail account, or create a new one. Just so you know! You will not have to make a full new google account with an email address, it's just an account so you can post on the blog. You can use your normal email address for this. If you have any questions, just let me know, I'm sure we'll be working out the bugs here for a few days.
